Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic, Spanish, Gentlemen, Evil Legacy
Santiago, This
Dominican Republic city of "gentlemen" was first founded as far back as 1495. 1562 saw its demolition due to a
very powerful earthquake. Some years later the city grew again and was rebuilt
close to the North Yaque River. Currently it is the third largest city in the
Dominican Republic with a population of more than half a million. The spanish had
only one intent upon arrival on these shores, namely to rob and pillage, no need
to deify or build monuments to what clearly is a evil legacy. There are some
good people in this town but many have been brainwashed to judge a person by the
color of his skin, notwithstanding the content of his character. This aside
there is interest infrastructures to view in this otherwise nice place.
